The building block of any thunderstorm is the thunderstorm cell formation. Most cell formations have a life cycle of 30 minutes. Some thunderstorms come without notice. One minute, you're swimming in a pool, trying to stay cool from the hot summer sun, and it starts raining, ruining the day. Other thunderstorms give warning signs like dark clouds and lightning flashes. No matter how they present themselves, rarely would someone describe getting caught in a storm as fun. I had no idea that my storm was forming.
